Tanya has spent over 25 years working with students to instill a love of literacy through the understanding that words have power. It's this rich history of literacy education that she draws on when developing professional learning sessions.

Tanya received  masters certificates in Literacy Coaching Grades PreK-6 in 2012. 
Tanya holds multiple NYS certifications in elementary education, students with disabilities education ages Birth-21 years, and literacy education. Tanya holds a micro-credential in the Science of Reading.

In her time in education Tanya has been a classroom teacher, a students with disabilities teacher, an academic interventionist, and a school librarian, 

As a lifelong learner who believes in educating the entire person, Tanya also has training in Bridges Out of Poverty, Trauma Informed Instruction, and Mindful Teaching.  

Tanya has also worked with the New York State Education Department on assessment development.
